Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter

Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter Today I'd like to discuss the audio book Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter - by Curtis Jackson https://youtu.be/zKEUKTxFomE To be perfectly honest, I've never been drawn to the hip hop or rap genre of music although a song or two from that genre have a place in the long list of music I've enjoyed.  I was browsing YouTube audio books for something interesting to listen to while I completed mundane chores around the office and studio... and found this incredible piece of work put out by Curtis Jackson.  Curtis - for those of you who don't know - made it in music as a rap megastar, known as 50 Cent, but also branched out into the corporate world investing in businesses and mentoring young music talent entering the stream.  I became addicted to listening to the man explain, in his own voice, his adventurous life from surviving in childhood, like everyone else in his world - by peddling drugs on the street. Through tenacity and talent alone he stro...

Dave Answers Your Q's

Answering Your Q's Q:  Dave - How long have you been working in the music industry? A: I have been working as a professional drummer since the mid 80’s playing both drum kit and percussion in "top 40" and "classic rock" cover bands, a Grateful Dead tribute band, and a few original bands. My world really opened up when I got involved in hand drums and added multi-percussion to my list of skills.   Over the years I have enjoyed playing in many different genres from the blues, salsa, R&B, reggae to country and original projects too.  On the stage, I have had the pleasure of playing alongside some of the best musicians around! Working with recording studios as a freelance percussionist balanced out the times when the bands were not getting bookings. My teac...
