Musician's Resources

The Kootenay & Boundary regions are filled with artists of all kinds including of course, musicians of all shapes and sizes playing noise makers of every kind you could imagine. :) Many of the small and medium sized cities or communities are spread quite far apart and so, especially if you are new to the area, it can seem difficult to find others to network with.  Therefore we are doing a series of blog posts offering 3 online networking resources for you to check out at a time. Some of these will be buy/sell related, but this will also give you insight as to instruments available and the people selling them. Answering Your Q's

Answering Your Q's Q: What are your dreams or goals within the music industry? A: Despite our heavy schedules, my partner and I have been making time to reach out to others in the industry through the Drum It With Brummet blog where I share my experiences as a player, builder, coach, and teacher. Inner Dynamic Control

Inner Dynamic Control * Written by Dave Brummet: www.BrummetMedia.ca One of the common questions my drum-set students ask of me is: “What can I do to be a better drummer?” This is a big question to answer for sure because there are so many facets of being a “better” drummer.  The most important tool for becoming a better drummer is to hone your dynamics. Of course we all need to be able to play quiet or loud depending on what the song - or part of the song is requiring. As drummers we need to be aware of the different dynamics of each venue we play at (whether the room is loud and boomy, or tight and hushed). Drummers need to be aware of what I call “inner dynamics” that will be required for each of these different rooms.  For instance one of the venues my band Tantrum plays at regularly has a large, long, high ceiling with a good-sized dance floor. There is a wonderful, natural resonance to the room and I can play pretty much unrestricted. I don’t mean loud and crazy, I just mean I d

Modern East Indian Blend

Modern East Indian Blend  Now this video brings musicianship to another level. Combining Rock, with a touch of Jazz at times... and blending that with traditional voice and rhythms.  On top of this they add a myriad of wild percussive instruments. Watch these musicians as they demonstrate a wide array of percussive instruments.  Their timing is impeccable!  https://youtu.be/6L4QKQMdO8Q ~~~   Find us online via:  https://taplink.cc/brummet  ~~~
