In the media

Our long time online writing friend of some 20 years or so Donna Sundblad invited us for an interview on her Book Hookup Blog r ecently.  Donna, in fact, runs several blogs. In between managing those, she is also a published author and a book reviewer. That's one busy gal! Dave Brummet joins us in this discussion, which is always a rare treat - as Lillian is usually doing media appearances on her own, due to Dave's schedule constraints.   His insight into imagery, graphics, web maintenance and drum teaching are fantastic.   Check out the interview @: https://bookhookup.blogspot.com/2023/03/interview-with-authors-lillian-and.html ~~~   Discover the Brummet's Books on Amazon :  https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0845RLK1X  Find Them Online via :  https://taplink.cc/brummet  https://linktr.ee/LillianBrummet ~~~

A Little YouTube

A Little YouTube Dave Brummet created this beautiful 30 second video trailer for our cookbook,  From One Small Garden - Over 300 Delicious Nutritious Recipes , recently... and I am so proud of what he created.  * He has, in fact, created 3 different trailers for this book - this one focuses on utilizing those garden harvests whether from local suppliers, a neighbour or your own back yard :)  I totally love what Dave created & I hope you like it too !  https://youtu.be/XfCMQrJKfjI ~~~   Discover the Brummet's Books on Amazon :  https://amazon.com/author/lillianbrummet - or -   Find them online via:  https://taplink.cc/brummet  https://linktr.ee/LillianBrummet

Answering Your Q's

Answering Your Q's Q: Through your experience, how has the music industry changed? How has music marketing changed? A: That is an interesting question; I've been in the industry for more than 3 decades and things have changed so much. When I first started out in my late-teens as a professional drummer there were live gigs to be had in almost every bar and pub and a lot of restaurants.  In the 80’s and 90’s, with the invention of the compact disc and emergence of new technology, bands were able to use more robust and affordable equipment to record albums themselves. The compact disc served as the launching pad for the digital age of music, and the next stop would be Peer-To-Peer (P2P) file sharing, also known as “the beginning of the end for record sales.”  As far as the change in marketing - most bands can now record their own CD with software and a bit of recording gear.  They can Photoshop their own graphics for covers and promotional materials and finally self-market t

Musician Resources

Kootenay / Boundary Musician Resources The Kootenay & Boundary regions are filled with artists of all kinds including of course, musicians of all shapes and sizes playing noise makers of every kind you could imagine. :) If you don't reside or vacation here, don't worry you can still use these resources to network. Many of the small and medium sized cities or communities are spread quite far apart and so, especially if you are new to the area, it can seem difficult to find others to network with.  Therefore we are doing a series of blog posts offering some online networking resources for you to check out. Some of these will be buy/sell related, but this will also give you insight as to instruments available and the people selling them. The power of music

The Legend of Gobi Dave and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie  Legend of Gobi   on   Prime .. . a fantastic adventure of Mongolian Khan's tyrannical control of others, going as far as banning music. The people fought back and this is the story of music changing the course of war and conflict. The closing statement to the movie flowed like poetry and has a powerful statement about music... so I would like to share this excerpt from the movie with you below. I encourage our readers to check out  The   Legend of Gobi   movie when you can. " The sound of music has echoed through the kingdom; The people of Mongolia treasured their horse head fiddles  From generation to generation. The wind blows freely and mountains rumble in a low hum.  Rivers run around and about  And the tree leaves shutter in harmony.  And also the stars shimmer in a cold dark night.  In a hot day, the golden sun rays touch the ground  With a sound of a jingle.  To feel all of these with your heart  People must
