Drum Trash
As a drummer, sustainable entrepreneur and instrument inventor, I am forever finding uses for items often thrown away.
Broken drum sticks:
- Cut down & sand rough areas smooth - to make cowbell beaters.
- Cut down and attach rubber ball to make sticks for hand pans.
- Tool handles in the workshop. I utilize short pieces for djembe repairs.
- Giveaways at performances (a broken stick has a story - tell them which song you broke it on!) Sign it and it is even more special.
- Use in the garden. Mark measurements on the stick, and use to make holes just the right depth for the seeds. Alternatively, use as a stake-marker - poking the stick in at each end of the newly sown row.
