As a drummer, sustainable entrepreneur and instrument inventor, I am forever finding uses for items often thrown away. 

Reuse cowbells:

A broken cowbell can be cut down to a smaller version of what it once was but with a higher pitch. 

I once cut down a large, cracked cowbell to about a third of its original size. It turned out to have a very unique, high pitch not readily found on the percussion market.
